From what I have heard, the electronic boost control will be stronger through the mid range in addition to allowing you to increassed the boost level. The reason I was told is because the solinoids will hold the waste gates shut until you hit your desired boost. The stock systems tends to gradually open the wastegates as you approach the boost level which results in some lost boost.
Also, if you go with an electronic boost controller, don't forget to remove the boost jets. I would also recommend that you consider larger intercoolers if you are going to be boosting in the 14.5 lb range.
